Antonio M. Gotto, Jr. Prize in Atherosclerosis Research

The 6th Antonio M. Gotto, Jr. Prize, endowed by Weill Cornell Medicine and the International Atherosclerosis Society in honor of Dr. Gotto, dean emeritus of Weill Cornell Medicine and founding president of IAS, recognizes outstanding scientific, medical or organizational advancement in the ability to understand the causes and the development of atherosclerosis. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates need to be nominated by their peers. Self-nominations will not be accepted. The selection committee will accept submissions until November 15, 2026. Questions can be submitted to info@athero.org.

To nominate a candidate, complete the form below. Candidates should be informed of their nomination ahead of time. The Committee will only review a maximum of two letters of support for each nominee; composite letters are acceptable. Letters should address how the nominee has contributed to the scientific or medical understanding of the causes and development of atherosclerosis or has led organizational advancement in this area.
