Regional Federations

IAS’ regional federations are integral to advancing the society’s mission and are designed to facilitate and broaden IAS activities at a regional level. Additionally, regional federations help IAS by:
- Strengthening relationships and collaborations with IAS members
- Facilitating new relationships between IAS and relevant organizations with similar objectives
- Seeking funding, developing and promoting international or regional activities and educational programs that can be produced by IAS solely or in partnership constituent societies
- Promoting and supporting the development of research programs, scientists and the next generation of ASCVD experts in their respective regions.
The IAS has four regional federations, whose members serve three-year terms: Africa & Middle East, Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Each regional federation has an appointed chair and up to nine members from regional countries. Each chair serves on the IAS Board of Directors and provides regular reports on activities in their respective regions.
